In 1993 the Lord called me to "set the captives free". I obeyed this calling, received the tools (education) to fulfill this assignment and for eighteen years the Lord has been faithful in using me to minister freedom to those He sends me. My training has been "on the job" and the Holy Spirit is very powerful and evident in my ministry as He uniquely ministers to each person. I give all the praise, honor and glory to Him for using me as He has over the years. Faith does not shield us from life’s challenges. Even as Christians, we may face seasons of emotional struggle, illness, grief, or relationship pain. Our approach to Christian counseling starts with learning the client’s spiritual history and their Christain walk. We adopt a systematic approach by integrating Christ-based principles in therapy. A clinical spiritual assessment is conducted prior to the implementation of any prescribe treatment approach, thereby achieving consistently favorable outcomes. For example, we use the FICA tool: faith, importance, community, and address: • Do you consider yourself a person of faith and how would you describe your faith tradition? • What importance does your faith have in your life? • Are you a member of a local church or faith community? • How would you like me to address these spiritual matter?

One of the things I noticed in my counseling education is how many counseling principles, skills, and interventions are biblically based. The Christian counseling I provide integrates biblical principles with evidence-based practices. My approach allows people to reference their specific denominational doctrine and to drawn on their spiritual beliefs as needed.

As a follower of Christ, I have long understood that God's purpose for my life is to lead & empower others to discover the very best in themselves and in others. The Lord chose to utilize me as a vehicle for spreading His word & helping others live Christ-centered, faith-abundant lives. Although not a pastoral counselor by training, I do incorporate faith-based principles into my practice of counseling individuals, couples, and families.
