I limit my family therapy, including grief therapy and counseling for caretakers to when there is a disruption of the family unit due to illness or injury, or the death of a family member. Early in my career I worked both in the areas of psycho-oncology and with the adjustment reactions of both family members and significant others to spinal cord and other severe and debilitating injuries in family members or other people they loved and cared about.
