My approach to therapy for addiction incorporates biblical principles and stories. Since the recovery movement incorporates the concept of a higher power, I help clients connect recovery principles to their biblical equivalents. I also assist client's in developing a relationship with God through scripture, prayer, and church resources. I also explore challenges one might have in their relationship with God due to traumas, disappointments, and life circumstances.

Counseling is a way to look at who we are. Spirituality is a big part of the human experience. It is my belief that within each of us is a beautiful soul. Some of us allow god to be a big part of our lives, while others question the concept of souls, god and spirituality. Wherever you may stand, you may still identify with a deeper part of yourself. You may call it whatever feels right for you. I would like to help bring that energy into the room (if it feels right for you) to help you heal, from accessing a wholesome, powerful, deep source within you.

I leverage a solution-based approach to clearly outline your primary challenge, work through an exercise to meditate on and define your future state and then work over 8 sessions to achieve it via homework and 1:1 sessions. Clients have experienced great success with this approach, my goal is to empower you - YOU have the answers and I want to help you find them.

Christian Counseling can take you into a peaceful setting, for you to be at your inner-self. My private environment, and private office will help heal any irrational thoughts you might have. At times a commercial setting can be irritating and uncomfortable to be at peace. Certainly we might find God to be the answer, but, we have to first find ourselves and inner feelings to strenghtened any irrational thoughts to rational thoughts.

Having a religious philosophy can benefit clients with these views. Worldview and Philosophy are powerful inner beliefs that clients possess. Chris has worked with many clients with Christian beliefs by respecting beliefs and integrating this into powerful and solutions oriented counseling. For example...." He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her" - A Bible quote that offers a viewpoint can be merged into good counseling. The quote talks about looking at ourselves before we judge others. The concept can be identified as lets look at ourselves before we blame others. This works well in individual or couples therapy to have clients look at their own motivations.
