Addictions steal people’s lives and break apart families. An addiction can be described as any compulsive and habitual behavior that limits your freedom. This includes alcoholism, substance abuse and dependency, drug abuse, compulsive gambling, pornography and sexual addiction, and others. Addictions have several warning signs, such as increased secrecy, withdrawing from family/friends, fatigue, failure to meet responsibilities, declining health, defensiveness, mood shifts, and demanding more privacy. The addictive cycle is hard to stop, but it can but it can be broken. As professional counselors we can help you break the chains of addiction!

Seeking help for an addiction can be hard. An addiction affects not only your body and mind but also your heart, spirit, family, friends, and vocation. Thank you for your courage in seeking help. As your counselor, I will work to support you in your recovery. This means holding you accountable to your goals. Addictions counseling involves treating the root causes of an addiction just as much as it does addictive behaviors.

People tend to think of addiction as a problem with alcohol or drugs, however we can be addicted to work, sex, food, gambling, pornography or even internet use. If you have experienced personal, family, or legal consequences as a result of addiction issues, we can help individuals and families learn better ways of coping with life on life’s terms. We work with with codependency, chronic relapse, and co-occurring mental health disorders that are frequently part of the addiction cycle. If you believe that there are others who have been where you are right now and are not there any longer, you may be ready to make meaningful changes. The work can be hard but you do not have to do it alone!
