Biblical and Christian Counseling in 76561: Oglesby, TX.

Although I do not have formal theological education, I offer my counseling clients a biblically-based, Christian world view in therapy. An example of a benefit for clients would be in addressing an issue such as forgiveness. I instruct clients in biblical references as to why practicing forgiveness is desirable and spiritually healthy. As the Bible teaches, unforgiveness can lead to the "root of bitterness" in a person's heart, which hinders their walk with God. Clients will benefit from stronger relationships by learning to forgive. Any counseling issue can be addressed successfully by encorporating Christian, biblical principles.

I am not trained in biblical counseling. Rather I am a Christian who is a therapist. My beliefs are part of who I am and most assuredly influence my counseling. When I have a client who is also a Christian, we pull from biblical principles and faith or spirituality practices and beliefs as a part of the healing process. For individuals who do not consider themselves a Christian, but do consider themselves spiritual individuals, I respect their beliefs and help them tap into their faith for their healing.

I value all faith traditions that promote a peaceful approach to spiritual growth and change. My background is in Christian spirituality, but I am very familiar with the spirituality of many faith traditions. I enjoy helping people sort through their spiritual beliefs and practices in order to find more peace, contentment, and direction in relationships and life.
