Regardless of the family structure, all families must work at building positive relationships among its members. At times, this can be a challenging task. At Christ Centered Counseling we strive to help family members to restore peace, harmony, and unity. We teach and encourage each member of the family to take responsibility for his or her behavior and to be accountable to each other for the well being of the family unit. Blended family counseling is available for families working through relational issues.

I provide counseling to families when an issue is affecting multiple family members. The advantage is that everyone involved gains understanding of the problem and the feelings of other family members. In turn, that enables the family to work together to resolve problems more quickly than if each family member had individual therapy sessions. I recognize that families have busy schedules so I offer after school and evening appointments.

Family therapy is important because sometimes everyone needs a safe, healthy, intentional place to be heard about issues that are happening in the home. Its normal to argue and fight with your family members but having a unified family full of meaningful connection is very possible. Relationships are difficult and require a lot of work. Every family is unique and once you are aware of what your family's patterns and dynamics are you can become a strong, healthy, fully connected unit.

I believe God created us for relationship and that good relationships take effort. I incorporate listening skills, attachment styles, relational skills, and biblical principles into my family therapy. I believe that it is necessary for us to make the relationship more important than any issue we may have with a person. Forgiveness is key and possible when we choose to let Jesus heal the wound.
