Brian loves being there for people. Many of his clients are his heroes, and should receive merit badges of courage as they face and cope with infidelity, mental health issues and the difficult obstacles that prevent them from being happy and achieving their goals.

Brian's journey to becoming a psychotherapist was an unusual one. He has always felt a pull towards the world of supporting, advocating for and encouraging others.

In 1998, Brian graduated from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Education. He quickly trained in Special Education, and started working with children experiencing learning difficulties. Having social and/or emotional difficulties resulting in dysfunctional behaviour was common amongst this population of students. To be more effective in serving these students, in 2004, Brian pursued training in Guidance and Career Counselling as well as in ABA and IBI in support of students experiencing Autism.

In response to over ten years of community and correctional institution requests for his services in helping adults experiencing social, emotional and/or mental health issues Brian furthered his studies at the University of Toronto, completing his Masters of Religious of Education and a certificate program in Therapy at the Faculty of Social Work in 2015.

Prior the teaching completed his BCom at Concordia University/Montreal, he worked in the corporate/government environment in material management/purchasing, while serving in the Canadian Naval Reserves for over 10 years.

Having lost both of my parents and an older brother within the last 6 years he is familiar with the loss and grieving process.

Therapy is a process that requires work, commitment, and faith. Change often comes as a whisper rather than as a thunder bolt and it is the slow, steady changes that lead to sustained changes.

Brian's professional style is warm, supportive, and engaging. His commitment to his clients is to remain current and offer the most effective strategies and interventions possible. As such, Brian can often be found taking courses and involved in professional development activities.

With the fast pace and challenges of life, you do not have to face them alone. Sometimes you need a helping hand and a friendly ear to talk to. Brian offers counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. He works with clients to improve their resiliency, and uncover their strengths using a client centered approach and different modalities to meet needs .
His counselling approach is informed by Systems Theory, Relational Theory and Collaboration Theory. He also integrates different models (such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness Meditation) into his practice. In addition, He can upon request, also incorporate spirituality informed by Biblical faith at his clients' comfort level during the sessions.
