My passion is working with trauma, codependency, addiction and LGBTQ+ issues I work with adults, adolescents, individuals, couples and families.  I am an LGBTQ+ AFFIRMATIVE THERAPIST.

If you are experiencing:
  • LGBTQ+ issues
  • Addiction
  • Codependency
  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Relationship issues

I can assist you with all of the above.  I understand the special circumstances that affect the LGBTQ+ population because I have experienced my own struggles.  I create a non-judgmental, safe environment where you can process and work towards healing and growth in all areas of your life.  I work with individuals, couples and families.  I provide assistance on your journey to self-discovery, self-healing and most of all self-love.  Let me assist you by increasing your coping skills, heal core issues and improve well-being.

LGBTQ+ adults are 2-4 times more likely to experience a mental health condition compared to non-LGBT people.  People who identify as gay or lesbian are more than twice as likely to have severe alcohol and tobacco use disorder. People who identify as bisexual are three times more likely to have substance use disorder. Those who are unsure of their sexual identity are five times more likely to have substance use disorder.  Transgender students are about 2 ½ times more likely to use methamphetamines and cocaine compared to their cisgender peers.  The LGBTQ+ community deals with unique issues, including stigma, discrimination, and everyday challenges, such as hate crimes, social rejection, isolation, and healthcare inequality. Due to these challenges, people within the LGBTQ+ community have higher rates of depression and anxiety which leads to an increased risk of substance use disorder. Whether you are struggling to come out to your family, are experiencing problems with your partner, or are overwhelmed by an addiction: I can help.

I enjoy working with adults and adolescents, and I have experience with codependency, trauma, anxiety, depression and grief as well.

I have a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University, and I am licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate supervised by Daniel Gowan, LPC-S, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern.  I am trained in Post-Induction Therapy (Pia Mellody's model).

I take an active and engaged approach in helping people grow.  I treat the specific needs of each individual.  I incorporate support with therapy that allows people to look at their family of origin and the influences it has had and help them flourish beyond these limitations.   I am committed to assisting others in their therapeutic journey by offering support, acceptance, hope and a non-judgmental space to facilitate personal growth and healing.
