Philosophy and Approach:  My approach to counseling is based largely on a Humanistic, Client-Centered model. I believe that working in collaboration with me, you are capable of acquiring an improved sense of self-awareness and self-efficacy. This improved sense of self enhances your ability to learn and master skills for addressing stressful situations in ways that support healthy emotional and physical balance. I employ an eclectic approach with a reliance on the motivational techniques of cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral therapy. 

I work primarily with adults and teens, and I am experienced in helping individuals address issues of depression, anxiety, addiction, personal identity and self-esteem. My desire is to help you find and achieve your goals in a comfortable and friendly environment. Our initial 30 minute get-acquainted session is free.  My style combines compassion, challenge, and when appropriate, a dash of good humor.

Formal Education and Training : I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College. I have over 5 years of experience in both clinical and private practice. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. I also hold the National Certified Counselor credential, and I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
