I obtained my Masters of Sience in Psychology at the University Of Leuven Belgium. At the Same University I completed a specialization in Psychotherapy and later specialized in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
Within my private practice, in Antwerp Belgium, I worked with Couples and Individuals targeting a variety of issues. Additionaly I functioned as Chief Psychologist of the Addiction ward at the Psychiatric Hospital of Stuyvenberg Antwerp. I clinically supervised the intensive, group therapy based, recovery program and the psychological testing. Although my background is soundly rooted in Psychoanalysis I apply several therapy modalities depending on the presenting issues.
In 2002 I immigrated to the U.S. and obtained my Callifornian Marriage and Family Therapy License. The experience enriched my work with people going through relocation, culture shock or multi-cultural relationships.
In idividual therapy I like to empower people through increased awareness of what has driven them in their life so far and through exploration of how the past still might have a stronghold on the present.
I thoroughly enjoy aiding couples in their ability to communicate with one another so they can fully enjoy the potential of their marriage/relationship. Facilitating deeper understanding in your personal feelings and workings and those of your partner, enable you as a couple to grow closer & stronger. It builds capacity to face adversity, for example past trauma or fertility issues.
