SISU is Finnish concept which is reflective of the tenacity and determination which sustains us through difficult times. Together, we will seek to translate these experiences into growth and hope for the future. For over 30 years, my skills and knowledge have developed through my work with those in conflict with the law (forensic psychiatry) who potentially experience mental health issues and/or substance use/abuse. I too, have worked with all genders who have experienced sexual trauma and/or violence. Areas address at SISU Treatment and Consulting Services are not limited to life transitions, domestic violence and abuse, anger management, men's issues, and women's issues. I too, work with those who have experienced these social issues within a faith-based institution and/or those who are both on a journey to deconstructing and/or reconstructing their faith.

My trauma informed approach is woven throughout various perspectives/modalities/interventions such as a client centered perspective, attachment based therapy, narrative therapy, neurobiology, and mindfulness. Additionally, I provide clinical supervision and consultation to students and professionals seeking to secure registrations or to support their day to day work with others. I provide support to frontline workers in the helping industry and to individuals in positions of leadership and influence. My teaching within post-secondary institutions has allowed me to both realize and appreciate the struggles of students getting their education while managing life. No one is removed from the struggles which occur in life.

I have received my education whilst working in the human services industry. I have a Bachelor of Arts with Psychology Major (Trinity Western University, BC), a Bachelor of Social Work with Distinction (University of Calgary), a Masters of Social Work (University of Calgary) and a Masters of Leadership & Management Summa cum laude (Briercrest Seminary).

If you struggle to speak about your issues, SISU Treatment and Consulting Services is a safe place to do so. Pursuing therapy is a huge step and finding that therapist whom you connect with can seem daunting. I bring a warm, lighthearted, informed and a non-judgmental approach to whomever I serve. We can do some great work together! I encourage you to reach out; let's talk! I look forward to journeying with you! I am seeing people in person and online.  I too, am open to speaking opportunities.
