ABOUT

Zoë is a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) who completed her clinical social work degree at the University of Toronto. Prior to becoming a therapist, Zoë worked with youth and families in the community mental health sector and has also completed internships in trauma and family therapy. Zoë's background and training as a yoga teacher informs her therapy practice as she strongly believes that healing comes when we can access the inherent wisdom and resources held within the body.

APPROACH

Zoë's approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-sensitive, and affirming of the intersection of wider social structures on lived experience.  Zoë take a holistic perspective in understanding the mind-body connection and may integrate components of body awareness, breath-work and movement into sessions, when indicated. Zoë believes that each person holds the answers within themselves and supports people to build on their unique inner resources in order to make meaningful change in their lives. As a holistic psychotherapist, Zoë recognizes the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual components that contribute to overall well-being and understands that challenging life experiences often do not occur in isolation.

Zoë also offers equine assisted therapy, which is an experiential and somatic form of therapy that involves horses. This type of therapy is suitable for anyone but may be particularly supportive for youth and adults who have struggled in traditional therapeutic settings and are looking for a different experience. Equine sessions involve focusing on feelings elicited through the body and emotional system, which horses are supportive in bringing awareness towards.
