Are you devastated with never-ending pain? Has an unbearable loss numbed you? When it comes to death, divorce, abuse, or trauma, our society often fails us, leaving us stuck and alone. But grief is such a universal human experience, and there really is a natural healing process. I use body-centered therapy, art, movement and mindfulness practices alongside evidence-based therapies to help support you to “feel the feelings” without becoming overwhelmed. It is possible to heal, find hope and comfort in life again, and to come together with loved ones. I can help. I work with individuals, couples, and families in a safe environment where the deeper stories can be shared, and healing can begin.

Grief and loss issues are explored in an integrative way to promote complete healing and resolution. Intergrative approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therpay (CBT) Satir, Play and Art therapy, EMDR, Narrative, Solution Focussed are all considered, depending on the individual needs which are consulted & considered in the plan for therapy. Therapy involves, education, support, exploration and processing of thoughts and feelings in order to resolve challenges. Parents of kids should expect to be involved and supported in their awareness of grief and loss and how to assist their children in coping, as developmental factors need to be considered.
Lorill Drummund, M.Ed., RCC, Certified in EMDR
When people come for grief counselling, often there is a memory or image that is haunting them, or coming as a "flashback", and which is hard for them to let go. The work I do, using EMDR therapy helps to put such memories to rest. This does not mean that you will forget what has happened, or stop loving the person who is gone, only that it will not longer have that constant sharp-edge, ever present feel. Some clients need a few counselling sessions to ease the pain, though I've had clients who healed decades-old grief from loss of a parent in childhood, in one or two sessions. They were then able to live their lives more fully.
Susan Dahlgren, MSW, RSW
Loss is universal, whether it is a death of love one, divorce, trauma or by a change in what is familiar. Grief is an emotion many of us are unprepared for. Unresolved grief can drain our energy, isolate ourselves, and close down our hopes for joys and to enjoy life. With therapeutic guidance and skills, you will better able to deal and complete and heal the relationships with your feelings and the pains caused by the losses.
Annette Kasahara, BA, MEd. (Psychology), RCC
My hope is that as clients work through the reality of the loss they have experienced, they will recover their clarity and inner direction, and will begin to create ways to move forward. Clients are encouraged to acknowledge the loss and to explore the gamut of emotions accompanying this loss. Clients are encouraged to express their gratitude for what was, and at their own pace, begin to move forward.
Paul Bains, B.Sc., M.A., RCC
The death of a loved one can be the most challenging life event we go through. But death is a life stage we all will go through and the life we have led will impact the ones we leave behind. In my 16 years of counselling clients, I have been able to help clients discover the unique gifts and lessons of the one who has died. Learn how you can use these lessons and gifts to manage your grief in a more manageable way. The feelings and thoughts can be scary, uncertain and confusing to deal with, but you can get through the tough times. You have a unique way of grieving and that is okay. Let me help you find your way. Call me now to see what my services can offer you.
