The Departments Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) of 2005 was designed to increase funding for mental health services in the county by implementing a 1% tax on residents who have a personal income over $1 million. Since its implementation, the quality and variety of mental health services available in La Quinta and the rest of Riverside County has improved consistently.
