Santa Clarita has different arts and events occurring throughout the year. One of the festivals held is the Cowboy Festival, which is held over five days, complete with western music and cowboy poetry, authentic cowboy food and gear, film location tours and much more. The festival was started in 1994 and is held at the Melody Ranch. Each day has a different show going on, such as a Chuck wagon dinner show, behind the scenes at Melody Ranch, or a Family murder mystery dinner train. There are many different shows to attend, some are extra and some come with admission. There are also youth programs, such as the youth poetry roundup and cowboys in the schools. A festival poster that can be purchased to commemorate the occasion is available. This is a great place to catch a little bit of history of Santa Clarita as it pertains to the cowboy filming industry.1
