In 1993 the Lord called me to "set the captives free". I obeyed this calling, received the tools (education) to fulfill this assignment and for eighteen years the Lord has been faithful in using me to minister freedom to those He sends me. My training has been "on the job" and the Holy Spirit is very powerful and evident in my ministry as He uniquely ministers to each person. I give all the praise, honor and glory to Him for using me as He has over the years. Christians, far from being immune to challenges, can find themselves in uniquely complex situations due to their faith. Moreover, such challenges can trigger a crisis of faith. Navigating relationships within our families, friendships, local communities, and the broader world is an often challenging journey. We were designed to experience and embrace loving relationships and lead lives that are the same. Choices moving us away from our loving selves cause pain. Our actions or others' choices can lead to confusion & harm. As Christians life is lived well as we discover and live from our true loving selves. Is a Christian Counseling perspective important to you in therapy? As an experienced Christian Counselor and ordained pastor, over the last 15 years I’ve been blessed to help hundreds of men find hope and healing using both psychological and Biblical principles. I believe that Christ is the ultimate source of hope and healing in this life. But I also believe that he’s given us the gift of rational minds, able to discern scientific and psychological truths built into the fabric of His amazing creation. My approach is grounded firmly in Scripture, but I don’t use Scripture as a weapon. You don’t need more guilt, but rather, a reminder of God’s promises and a compassionate guide to support you.

For 25 years I was a gospel songwriter. My father was a psychiatrist and a Christian. That being said, it is important to note I don't have an agenda nor am I preachy. You can be yourself without fear of judgment. Though I am well trained in this field, I am also very cognizant that many of you may have wounded in a religious setting. I respect your faith and denominational differences. I have also been a student of man world religions and hope that you will find counseling from this perspective to help you enjoy your life, in abundance until it overflows. God wants you to prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. That trinity is the same image you were created.

One of the things I noticed in my counseling education is how many counseling principles, skills, and interventions are biblically based. The Christian counseling I provide integrates biblical principles with evidence-based practices. My approach allows people to reference their specific denominational doctrine and to drawn on their spiritual beliefs as needed.
