I specialize in working with clients struggling with depression. Depression is often a signal to the mind and the body that there is something important happening in the client's life that is not being addressed. It is my goal to help each client to better understand the reasons for their depression, which is often rooted in the suppression of other difficult emotions. As we begin to explore some of these deeper issues, I provide my clients with coping skills related to mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. That way, a client becomes skilled to deal with the issues they previously feared, in a more healthy and effective way.

I utilize relational approach in working with clients with issues of depression. Client explore the meanings of depression in terms of physiological, psychological, or relationships connectivity. Clients examine steps that have worked in managing symptoms, or not worked. Through the process of therapy, clients become aware of skills to manage and optimize functioning; thereby reinforcing that depression is the problem and they are not the problem. As such, they explore and implement healthy life choices in controlling the symptoms with medication management, social engagements, exercising, relaxation, prioritizing, time management, and identify a safe person to help reflect arising needs.
