My clinical training, the use of research supported treatments, such as EMDR, ART-Accelerated Resolution, CBT, & Sports Counseling have allowed me to successfully work with individuals of all ages (children, teens, adults, & geriatrics), athletes, & business professionals who are confronted with a variety of concerns.

When we are depressed, we usually feel stuck, helpless, and hopeless. My approach is to help you realize or remember that you have options, and to help you determine what those options are. When we can see our options, we feel better because we feel more in charge of our lives. When we remember our power, we do not need to feel depressed any longer.

When I address depression and major depressive disorders, I do so with a Biblical perspective. Depending on the degree of the depression, I typically start with supportive psychotherapy and medication management until they've gotten to the point of being able to fully engage in more intense therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy. My approach is very patient-dependent, and no two treatment plans are alike.

We can look at alternatives, whether that means staying with your current job, but seeking better ways to adapt, or seeking a new job within your career field by using more effective job search strategies, or looking into alternative career options that you might find more rewarding.

Most of therapy or counseling processes utilize validation, unconditional positive regard, and reframing as common techniques to get someone to heal from their depression. Cognitive behavioral therapy ia an excellent approach to depression.During episodes of depression, people frequently exhibit extreme thinking patterns, and cognitive therapy can help them bring their thinking into perspective. If, for example, they see themselves as worthless or a failure, they can explore beliefs that help them see themselves in a different light. If a counselor feels that issues from long ago (for example, trauma or childhood neglect) are emerging as depression, she may employ EMDR therapy. Often a mixture of techniques is used in treating depression.
