My therapeutic style is collaborative and I make every effort to develop caring and respectful relationships. My interventions tend to be integrative with an emphasis on interpersonal relationships, emotional awareness and effective thinking patterns. My intention is to foster a non-judging, compassionate environment within which people can grow and work toward a fulfilling life.

In over 20 years since becoming licensed as a psychologist, I have learned that each person's life is unique, and therefore the solutions to their problems must be just as individualized. First learning to identify patterns that lead to one's problems, and then gain the skills necessary to overcome those particular problems will also teach one ways to live one's life more fully in general. I use both cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) as well as experiential self-help skills to overcome your main problem and live more fully and comfortably in each moment of your life.

There are many different approaches to psychotherapy. I combine several different theories when working with clients to find the one that works best for their symptoms and maximizes treatment outcomes. Many patients I have worked with in the past have tried therapy and have not been successful. Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment to identify baseline functioning. We then work together to develop a treatment plan and continue to monitor for progress using assessments. Modality can be modified depending on client preferences and receptiveness of treatment.
