Understanding ones qualities and personality is one key to developing a plan that will result in a satisfying career. Many times clients work to work instead of finding what makes them tick and what creates purpose and meaning in life. Clients settle far to often and become dissatisfied and begin to develope a negative self-concept, which leads to more dissatisfaction.

Work can be an enormous source of stress for many people. For some it's a feeling of anxiety to perform under unrealistic expectations, for others it's due to work place conflict or unhealthy work environments. The first 20 years of my career I worked in human resources and business consulting for large and small companies and I have 10 years of experience doing workplace counseling and executive coaching. I will help you get to the root cause of your stress and begin to identify changes you can make to improve your work life and lead a less stressful life going forward.

I provide career counseling to: those who have been laid off and are looking for a second career as a result of the current economy; those who have a disability and need career counseling as part of their "transition plan"; and/or those who are uncertain about choosing a career, as opposed to just seeking employment or a job. In addition, I provide career counseling to those who are unhappy with their current job/career and are looking for a change. perhaps something more fulfilling and rewarding. What ever the case may be, I assist in examining your strengths and needs and provide guidance; so that you can make a career decision or improve your performance in your present career.

While most career counselors love to give you capacity based profiles of what your talents and interests are for your best bet career choices, Grey Matters international believes that most people make predictably irrational decisions and then after making them learn way to make them fit into their identities using various types of rationalizations and strategies.
