Individual psychotherapy sessions are all about re-discovering what's right with us and using that to "stand against" whatever problem is influencing your well-being. Sometimes half the battle is recognizing you have a problem and making the decision to see a counselor. In doing so, you are taking your first step in liberating yourself and refusing to allow a problem to keep you prisoner.

I work from a person centred, family systems, & attachment base in psychotherapy. Our early childhood attachment relationships impact us throughout our lifespan. Sometimes we develop strategies to protect ourselves in childhood which can become challenging to us as we move into adulthood; my approach to psychotherapy intentionally addresses these early childhood patterns. In psychotherapy you will also experience a deeper understanding of yourself, develop new levels of functioning - including a growing capacity to self-regulate, along with a purposeful & safe therapeutic relationship.

Patterns of self-sabotaging behavioural, disorganized thinking and overwhelming emotion make life very difficult. How can we move forward when our bodies seem to betray us and we just need a break from the buzzing anxiety or the numbing of depression? What you may not know is all these symptoms are the imprint of our unfinished business, stuck in the body and just begging to be seen, cared for and accepted.
