I do not offer family therapy as a primary, stand-alone service but I do often facilitate family therapy sessions for my individual clients who wish to have another family member present during one or more sessions and when I believe that doing so is in the interest of the client. For example, clients who have a family of origins issue with siblings or parents sometime ask for a few family therapy sessions. As long as the invited family member is willing and able to support the client’s therapeutic needs, such sessions can be very beneficial.

Why can't we just all get along? Well, sometimes we do our best based on what we know and there are things in the way that cause conflict, create negative relational patterns, or even events that change the dynamics of how we relate. It can be a simple communication solution, learning coping skills, or there may be emotional or relational patterns that need shifted. I can provide very practical tools for all of that as well as an emotion-focused and attachment-based approach for developing secure and strong family bonds.

In family therapy, counselors work on the family as a whole. In other words, restoring the family relationships is our focus. I yearn to help you re-establish healthy communication patterns, clarity around roles, regulation within emotions, and effective connections overall. I have a passion for working with couples because I understand what it is like to live in an unhealthy relationship. Also, simple tools and awareness can make a huge difference for significant others. With the aid of a trained therapist, your relationship can one day rest on a basis of joy.
