Counseling clients with anxiety and managing stress is my reason for choosing this field to work in. For a period of my life, I was overcome with anxiety and panic attacks. This is no longer the case and my belief and my understanding that this can happen for clients I have seen as a result of getting help. The feelings are painful and in my case, became unbearable. The fear creates the fear. The "what if"? that starts every sentence. Whether it is to assess your options, learn techniques for mindfulness or learning how to deal with triggers, it is my goal as a therapist to assist you with gaining your life back. Everyone experiences anxiety at some point, but for some the anxiety is so frequent or intense that it interferes with their lives or even triggers panic attacks. I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help my clients get a sense of control over their own anxiety. We collaborate to learn skills to reduce the frequency or intensity of the anxious feelings, to tolerate the anxiety when it does occur so they can still function through it, and to practice habits that reduce stress and improve general mental health.

Anxiety and Stress Treatment and Counseling will incorporate using CBT and DBT as well as other therapies in order lower anxiety and stress. Learning to make SMART goals and bring new changes to the day to day routine will take place. Building on strengths and taking an active part in an individualized treatment plan to achieve healthy goals. Mindfulness practices will be added to the therapy sessions.

While most treatment approaches for anxiety and stress are effective on the surface, they dont treat the real problem.
