Recovery from an eating disorder doesn't end when treatment does. The post-treatment phase comes with its own challenges, and having ongoing support can make a real difference in staying well long-term. I work with individuals in the maintenance phase of eating disorder recovery, helping you build a healthier relationship with food & your body, strengthen your self-esteem, & develop coping strategies that hold up when things get hard. Using EMDR, CBT, DBT, & somatic approaches, we'll address the underlying emotional patterns & past experiences that fed the disorder in the first place. Please note that I work with individuals in recovery, not those actively in the throes of an eating disorder

Eating disorder Counseling will take take place using several therapies including Internal Family systems approach, trauma therapy, CBT and DBT, as well as Mindfulness solution focused therapy. Building on self-love and self-worth will be a significant component of therapy. Individuals will see an increase in confidence and self esteem, along with learning new healthy habits.

Clients struggling with disordered eating concerns can develop increased insight, learn psychoeducation regarding symptoms and treatment for eating disorders, and can begin the process of healing from any traumatic life experiences that may have contributed or worsened development of current symptoms and concerns. Clients can implement mindfulness skills.

Eating disorders are a broad spectrum of “too much” behaviors. They can stem from always seeing that image of that potato chip and not being able to say “no”. Or they may be much more serious. Indeed in my 20 year experience, eating problems are not usually related to food, but are related to unresolved or suppressed emotions. Using advanced techniques, we aim for a personal and confidential release of those emotional weights, freeing you to make healthier and ultimately beneficial choices.
