I provide a supportive collaborative approach to Family Therapy helping families improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships. My goals is to create a safe, non judgmental space where families can work together to overcome challenges, enhance problem solving skills, building stronger, more resilient family dynamics.

He is also a published author and was invited to appear as a special guest on David Lettermans Late Night television program on 2 separate occasions. We come from a systems approach when working with families. We teach family members how to communicate more effectively with one another. There is an emphasis on personal responsibility and each family member looking at how their behavior is contributing to the problems. Building empathy between family members is also a main focus for us when working with families. We strive for families to leave sessions feeling more connected and understood by each other with the tools to be more successful in their communications. We do family therapy both in the office and in homes.

Family therapy is an active approach that Chris Colasuonno, LCSW-R uses to help bring peace and harmony for the family. There are a lot of dynamics in a family where psychotherapy and counseling can balance out clients and family. A family's culture, dynamics, viewpoint can play a big part in how a family interacts. Sometimes the system breaks down and one member may be viewed as the broken piece. Until the system comes together to work through what is really happening the problem often persists. My background is in MST or multi systemic Family Therapy. I believe the family system is vital to the mental and emotional well- being of each person in the family. All people in family work must have similar goals. I do sessions with individuals and families within the unit to better support the family unit to assist in fostering a more positive relationship, to preserve the family system. Focused on parent and pre- teen, teen, interaction or (co) parenting to better support the family dynamic in concert with working one pre /teen or adult child communication to increase a more positive relationship .

Family therapy is full of richness. All families are different yet very much the same. There are many different dynamics at work with families. There are parent and sibling sub-systems, coalitions and alignments within families. Families can be very complex units yet very enriching to their members. I enjoy working with families, especially the challenges of the developmental life stages, birth, toddlers, young adolescents, young adults, mid-life, old age. Each offers their unique challenges. The benefits come with setting clear goals, objectives, rules, consequences to breaking the rules and developing open and respectful lines of communication.
