Children can be impacted by transitions and traumas in their lives. When they don’t know how to cope, the stress can build up. I provide safe and compassionate counselling where the child can talk about their feelings without the fear of being judged, better understand why they feel this way and learn strategies to move forward. All of my work with children/youth includes the caregiver/parent in every aspect of the work. I do not believe in undermining the child's authority in any manner. Much of the work with children/youth should include their most important caretakers in fully influence the change. I have many years of experience in issues regarding child/family work in community and hospital settings. I have over 16 years experience working with children ages 6+ in the mental health setting addressing concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, emotion regulation, social skills and behaviour management. My approach with this age group is to make therapy safe, interactive and fun! I utilize a variety of therapy modalities such as CBT, Narrative and art in my work with children.

Specifically bullying or behaviors caused by family, school related issues. I have counselled many young children and believe that they need to have a voice. Many children don't have a voice and many challenges come from this. Children often react in unhealthy ways because they aren't being heard. I offer a safe place for children to learn to express their emotions.
