Although we do not know the specifics of this ‘thorn’, we do know that it constantly vexed Paul and stimulated a great deal of emotional challenges for him. So too all Christians who wish to follow the commandment “…be perfect as God the Father is perfect” (Mt. 5:48) are faced with the constant struggle to orient our lives to follow His example. However, being “generically sinful”, it is in our nature to be attracted to those behaviors that are anti-Christ. In Christian counselling, I provide a space where clients can integrate their faith with psychological healing in a way that feels respectful and authentic to their beliefs. Spirituality may be explored as a source of meaning, strength, and guidance, while also addressing emotional and relational concerns. Clients are supported in making sense of challenges through both a therapeutic and faith-informed lens. Many benefit from increased spiritual clarity, emotional healing, and a deeper sense of alignment between faith and lived experience.
