I am the only Registered Marriage & Family Therapist in Saugeen Shores. Most RMFTs are trained in a systems approach to family therapy. This means we view the family as a system and try to improve the interactions between members of the system in order to improve the overall functioning of the family. We will explore what works well and what needs to be improved in a non-blaming supportive atmosphere.

Family dynamics are complicated. Each family has established patterns, such as how everyone communicates within the family system, how they deal with stressful situations and conflict, their roles in the family unit and how members seek support from one another. In sessions, we seek to balance the needs of each individual to understand the dynamics between family members and how these dynamics are impacting the family as a whole.
