Grief and Loss Counseling in Travelers Rest, SC.

Every one suffers grief at any type of loss. Some are obvious, i.e. death of a spouse, child, or family member or friend. Other types of loss are not so easily defined, i.e. job loss, relationship loss, or even some security issues. The client will benefit from understanding the stages of grief and how to cope with the loss in a Biblical way. Practical and relevant application of Biblical principles are given with clear instructions on how to approach healing and recovery.

I use a variety of techniques with persons dealing with grief and loss depending on client's circumstances, level of trauma, faith base, and support system. Healing Prayer is always a part of my work with grief, but I also use imagery, mindfulness techniques, stress and trauma reduction, and emotional memory reconstruction. I have trained under Courtney Armstrong, LPC in transforming traumatic grief in situations of sudden or violent death of a loved one and tend to have good success in a relative short period of time.

The most difficult feeling associated with the loss of someone or something in life is due to the lack of hope that the lost can never be recovered. Hope is the most powerful agent of healing and is something that everyone can obtain when they are guided in the correct direction. The ultimate hope of this life is found in the person of Jesus Christ and He has made Himself available to everyone if they will only seek Him.
