Having worked with couples for several years, I find that there are very common themes that pop up. The major issues begin when the communication breaks down. I know the value and have the skills to help restore (or install) healthy communication patterns. Once we have communication in place we are able to focus on the other issues that come up in relationships, including meeting each other's needs, roles, power differentials, financial issues, past baggage, grudges and resentments,roles, extended families or parenting disagreements to name a few. I work hard to create balance in the session so that neither spouse feels constantly picked on, or in the hot seat and I encourage feedback.

I facilitate constructive and open dialogues to strengthen relationships. Through effective communication strategies and conflict resolution techniques, I guide couples in addressing issues and enhancing emotional connection. My goal is to help partners rediscover shared goals, improve mutual understanding, and cultivate a healthier and more fulfilling partnership.

Intimacy. How can we find intimacy in our close relationships when it seems like conflicts just get in the way? Sometimes the conflicts are the stuff of our daily grind--too many hours at work, too many socks on the floor, too many missed opportunities to connect. Sometimes conflicts are fire storms--affairs, addictions, and more. If we learn to manage our conflicts, and listen to the communications with in them, we can deepen intimacy with our partners, our families, friends, and most importantly, with ourselves.

Being in a committed relationship can be incredibly rewarding, as well as the most frustrating, disappointing, overwhelming aspects of life. If you're like most couples, you start a fight on one topic and end on a completely different topic, without any resolution. My approach to therapy helps couples identify the underlying patterns of each fight and work to change those patterns, leading to long-term resolution. I use humor, understanding, and confrontation to push clients where they want to go.

He works with a Gottman trainer and goes to twice monthly supervision to help grow in his implementation of the Gottman method.
