I work with clients who are struggling with existential depression, often stemming from life transitions/adjustments, uncertainty, and relationship issues. I pull from a wide range of modalities for therapy focused on depression that include implementing healthy coping skills and exploring how the past has impacted the present. I use a solution-focused approach with my clients.

Depression can be a response to your environment, or possibly a chemical reaction in your brain. People respond to depression in different ways, and it can help to talk to a professional to figure out the cause of your depression as well as the best way to respond and cope with it. Depression is good at tricking us unto thinking we shouldn't talk to anyone or share what we are going through, but this is a lie and will only deepen the depression! EMDR, Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing, has been proven effective for depression and anxiety. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy has also been proven effective for Treatment Resistant Depression for those whom traditional pharmaceutical interventions (Prozac, Wellbutrin, etc.) were not tolerated or ineffective. We offer Ketamine Assisted Therapy under medical supervision with appropriate screening and post-treatment observation by an ER physician with over 20 years of experience with Ketamine administration.

Grey Matters International, Inc. and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D. handles depression and other emotional disorders in a very unique way. Most of therapy or counseling processes utilize validation, unconditional positive regard, and reframing as common techniques to get someone to heal from their depression. Though this can be helpful, it rarely fixes the core problem behind it and for tough cases we then refer them usually to a psychiatrist for medication which can have tons of side effects.
