If you’re feeling down, are lacking motivation, or lacking motivation, you’re not alone. The demands of work and home life can take a toll on any man. Not many understand the unique pressures you face, and this can be frustrating, lonely, and isolating. Whether you feel like things are falling apart, or you’re still hiding it pretty well, there is hope. I often use EMDR therapy and a faith-based perspective to help men uncover and heal the source of their issues, and discover their peace, hope, and motivation in life. One of the insidious parts of depression is that while you’re in the fog, it’s hard to be objective. I will help you walk through this fog until we get to the other side.

EMDR, Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing, has been proven effective for depression and anxiety. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy has also been proven effective for Treatment Resistant Depression for those whom traditional pharmaceutical interventions (Prozac, Wellbutrin, etc.) were not tolerated or ineffective. We offer Ketamine Assisted Therapy under medical supervision with appropriate screening and post-treatment observation by an ER physician with over 20 years of experience with Ketamine administration.

I work with clients experiencing clinical and/or situational depression. We use a combination of CBT, EMDR and other modalities to uncover the roots of depression and to make us aware of our triggers and thought patterns. Through self-awareness and self-compassion, clients discover new ways of looking at their world which align with their values. Depression can be overwhelming and paralyzing and we work together to understand, unravel and empower you for turning the page on a new chapter.

We frequently work with individuals to help find solutions to feelings of depression. We'll begin by having a dialogue about your experience. I'll listen, ask questions to clarify, and together we'll develop an action plan to help you find your way forward through depression to a better life. By speaking your truth -- being heard and validated -- and experiencing the therapeutic support I provide, you'll begin to find stronger ground to stand on. We are experienced and skilled in identifying and treating the many different types of depression -- whether you're dealing with postpartum depression, a chronic mild depression known as "dysthymia," bipolar disorder, or something else.

Depression comes in many forms. Clients who have organically driven forms should see their doctor regarding the latest/newer approaches to pharmacotherapy. Other forms of depression can stem from relationship troubles and in particular marital problems. Relationship counseling and learning new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving regarding marital conflict and intimacy deficits are a proven, effective way to overcome these types of depression. Many of my clients have learned to combine their existing pharmacotherapies with marital counseling--which is a particularly effective and empirically proven combination.

Grey Matters International, Inc. and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D. handles depression and other emotional disorders in a very unique way. Most of therapy or counseling processes utilize validation, unconditional positive regard, and reframing as common techniques to get someone to heal from their depression.
