Specialized Therapy for POTS, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and Chronic Illness

Are you or your child living with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), or another form of dysautonomia? Coping with invisible illnesses like these often means juggling fatigue, pain, medical procedures, school or work disruptions, and the emotional toll of being misunderstood. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

I’m Dr. Lindsay Cirincione, a health psychologist with more than 15 years of experience helping adolescents, young adults, and families adjust to complex medical conditions. My specialty is supporting people with POTS, EDS, chronic pain, migraine, and overlapping conditions such as mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) and autonomic dysfunction.
 How I Can Help
Together, we focus on both the physical and emotional sides of chronic illness. Clients often seek me out for support with:
  • Managing daily symptoms of POTS and dysautonomia (lightheadedness, tachycardia, GI distress, fatigue)
  • Coping with chronic pain, headaches, and sleep difficulties
  • Building skills for pacing, energy conservation, and school/work participation
  • Reducing anxiety and depression linked to chronic illness
  • Strengthening resilience, self-advocacy, and quality of life
  • Parent and caregiver coaching to support children and teens with chronic illness
My Approach

I take a collaborative, compassionate approach: you are the expert on your experience, and I bring evidence-based strategies to help you function at your best. We’ll work on concrete tools for symptom management while also addressing the emotional burden of chronic illness. My goal is to help you reclaim your life—even when health challenges feel overwhelming.
 Why Work With Me
  • Specialized expertise in POTS, EDS, and invisible illnesses — conditions that are often misunderstood in traditional therapy settings
  • Background in academic medicine at Johns Hopkins, where I helped build multidisciplinary care models for youth with complex conditions
  • Licensed psychologist with PsyPACT authorization, offering secure telehealth across most states in addition to in-person sessions in Maryland
If you’re ready for a therapist who truly understands POTS, EDS, and chronic illness, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can find ways to ease symptoms, improve daily functioning, and restore a sense of balance in your life.
