Growth Is Not Easy

Our lives are anything but predictable and they have a way of throwing us off balance, through sudden and unexpected life circumstances like a family death, an affair, or a surprising onset of crippling anxiety. At these times, it can feel like what was solid ground suddenly crumbles beneath us and there’s nothing secure to hold onto. At other times, what is familiar becomes too painful—the constant expectation to take care of others’ needs, or the nagging resentment from feeling unseen and taken advantage of. Growth and change are difficult and it takes courage to ask for help, courage to become who we really are.

Meet Mark:

As a client, when you come into my office, my first goal is always to make sure that you are seen and understood. My intention is to help you make sense of your story in a way that allows for meaningful change—moving from feeling trapped to making real choices, taking new risks, and connecting with yourself and others more fully.

My educational background is in the area of Marriage and Family Therapy - M.A. MFT, Trinity Western University. This program focused on the ways that we interact in relationships and families, and the patterns that can leave us feeling stuck, frustrated, and discouraged. It is possible to disentangle from these patterns, and learn how to be ourselves and connect with others in meaningful ways.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), #15271 , which is overseen by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

Practice areas include:
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Healing from loss and trauma
  • Managing emotions and impulses
  • Relationship patterns: getting unstuck
  • Boundaries: how to say no, or yes without resentment
  • Family conflict
  • Anger: how to feel anger without damaging relationships
  • Spirituality: making meaning
