I am currently offering virtual sessions.

My area of specialty is couple and family therapy, issues of violence, and trauma. I work with individuals and family members to understand the complex dynamics that interrupt family bonds. I will offer insights to support deeper understanding and healing in family relationships. I work with couples and families of all ages, stages, and can work with high conflict. I am a member of the Hear the Child Roster and I write Hear the Child and Views of the Child Reports. I also specialize in working with first responders. I am an approved provider with BC Emergency Health Services and the RCMP.

The cornerstone of my practice is grounded in the belief that people do all types of things to protect themselves and preserve their dignity. Sometimes their responses are misunderstood and/or seen as negative. My goal is to explore these to determine the meaning behind the things people are doing in their relationships with others. From my experience, once individuals, couples, or families begin to understand their responses, they begin to feel better. From this perspective we will explore, in great detail, the details of each client’s perspective, responses, and resistance. We will then work to create new more helpful ways to communicate and be in relationship with others. Clients are invited to attend individually or with their partner or family members. Together we will collaborate on goals and strategies for therapy. I have specialized training in working with issues of violence. I work with perpetrators and victims of violence.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I have a Masters Degree in Counselling from City University. In addition, I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree, a Certificate in Response-Based Practice, a Certificate in Child Abuse Prevention, a Diploma in Systemic Family Therapy, and am in the final stages of completing a Certificate in Family Mediation. I believe in ongoing education. I have completed Narrative Therapy Training Level 1 and Narrative Therapy Advanced Level 2, Gottman Couples Therapy Level 1, and attended trainings on Trauma-Informed Practice, Solution-Focused Therapy, and anxiety. I have certification in suicide intervention (ASIST and SafeTalk).  I practice from a number of therapeutic modalities including Response-Based Practice, Narrative Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Clinical Supervision is an integral part of my practice. I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I offer internship placements for Masters of Counselling interns and I work to support practitioners in their clinical work.

My goal is to provide a welcoming, collaborative, individualized experience for counselling. I believe that counselling is a highly personal decision that is most successful when clients feel a rapport with their counsellor. Therefore, I welcome you to call and ask me questions.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC# 13848) I can provide a receipt with my registration number for most extended health plans. I direct bill to BCEHS and the RCMP.
