Do you ever feel like you are your own worst critic? Do you have trouble ‘turning off’ the negative thoughts in your head? Or do you spend too much time worrying about the future or dwelling in the past? I work with individual adults who are experiencing low self-esteem, self-criticism, and anxiety. Putting the brakes on your busy life and slowing down to look inwards can help you from seeking distractions or unhealthy habits when feeling unwell. It takes courage to ask for help, explore meaningful questions, and demonstrate self-love. The way to self-love can have different meanings for each of us, depending on our life experience.
Setting boundaries, stress management, assertiveness and forgiveness are some of the ways you can begin to demonstrate more self-love. In the comfort and privacy of my therapy practice you can expect to explore and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours and build resilience by seeing your experiences through a different lens.
My personal approach to counselling is anti-oppressive, feminist and client-centered. I implement techniques from cognitive-behavioural, narrative, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-meditation based therapies. I am educated in Attachment Theory and trained to give an impression of an Attachment Classification based on an Adult Attachment Interview. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where you can feel at ease to open up and be met with curiosity and acceptance.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am based in Toronto, ON and have two office spaces here (Leslieville and Dundas West). I see clients virtually Ontario-wide.
I use the Jane App online booking system which can be found through my website. If you have any questions or concerns, you can always email me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
