About Adam Dyck:
Adam is originally from Saskatchewan but moved to Manitoba in his early years as a child and has been enjoying living in Manitoba ever since. He has been married for 18 years and has 3 children. He enjoys spending time outside camping, fishing, and skiing. Adam’s hobbies are playing guitar, woodworking, and playing video games.

Adam’s experience:Adam has been working with people in one capacity or another for 15 years. He has worked with individuals struggling with eating disorders, varying degrees of depression and anxiety, relational problems, drug use/abuse, self-esteem/body image issues, grief and loss.

Adam uses these therapies to help:
  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy: helps you overcome unhelpful thought patterns that are effecting your behaviour so that you can achieve your goals.
  • Attachment Therapy: exploring your early attachments so that you can become aware of what motivates you in your relationships and in your behaviours. This helps you understand why you respond the way you do and gives you a choice in how to live your life.
  • Mindfulness Therapy: to help you stay in the present and not give in to anxious or depressive thoughts about the future or past. We work together to learn ways to breathe through emotions that are uncomfortable and situations that make you nervous.
  • Emotion Focused Therapy: to help you recognize what emotions are present with you every day and understand the needs that each one of them have. This helps you to understand your motivations and how to meet the needs of those emotions without having others meet them for you.

  • $90 per 50-minute session (applies to individuals)
  • $135 per 80-minute session (applies to couples and families)
  • Adam can provide a bill for you to submit to your insurance company.
  • If you are struggling financially, a sliding scale is possible on a case by case basis.

Education:Master’s Degree in counselling and psychotherapy from Providence Theological Seminary
