My Approach:

I hold deep compassion for all you have been through and where you are now. I approach therapy as a collaboration between you and I, where you are respected and honoured and your strengths are highlighted. We work at a safe pace in line with your needs. I appreciate how hard it is to be a human in this world and the support required to get through challenging and transitional times, as well as the possibility for resilient growth and recovery.

Individual Therapy

I work with individuals from a relational, somatic lens to connect you with yourself, your loved ones, your intuition and heal traumatic wounds. As humans we exist in relationship. Relationship to our families of origin, our chosen families, our culture, our past, our memories, and ourselves. I work with you through a relational lens, to acknowledge all that connects you and has harmed you within these contexts.

Some reasons you may choose to see me:
  • Relationship issues
  • Life transitions
  • Career/Creative Blocks
  • Grief and loss
  • Core identity/sense of self
  • Boundaries
  • low mood/worry/postpartum
  • Spiritual concerns/crises
  • Trauma

Couples Therapy:

Couples are 2 people with different bodies and different life experiences, who are working together. This is an incredibly challenging task! Finding a meeting place that reminds you of your connection, as well as a place to heal wounds, is helpful to repair and to grow.  I hope to facilitate this process in a safe, respectful space, where all people are heard, seen, respected and understood.
Couples therapy can be extremely helpful in the early stages of a relationships, to strengthen communication, connection and resolve patterns prior to them becoming ingrained.
I welcome ALL couples into my practice including polyamorous, LGBTQ2S+

What couples therapy can help with:
  • Communication challenges
  • Feeling stuck in a pattern of conflict
  • Infidelity
  • Separation support
  • Co-parenting
  • Feeling disconnected from each other

Somatic Experiencing®:

Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a body-oriented therapeutic model for healing trauma.  SE™ has provided me with a deeper knowing of the body as a container for, and a releaser of, trauma.
Some choose to see me for SE™ as an adjunct to ongoing therapy with their therapist, or for a few sessions, to work through a particular trauma or ailment. It can also be woven into ongoing individual or couples therapy.
Trauma is not defined by the event but rather your experience of the event. Even what others might perceive as “minor” could make a huge impact on your nervous system.

What SE™ could help with:
  • phobias
  • a physical ailment with no physiological cause
  • voice concerns, finding your voice.
  • medical trauma
  • birthing trauma
  • healthcare worker trauma
  • workplace trauma
  • car accidents or other accidents
  • natural disaster survival
  • abuse of any kind
  • systemic trauma
  • sexism/racism/ableism

About Me:

Through my own journey of illness and recovery and nursing others through the same, I have developed a strong interest in the mind as it connects to the body and the body as it connects to mind.
I am a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP™), a Certified Clinical Traumatologist (TITC-CT), hold a Master of Nursing (MN) with a collaboration in Addictions Studies, through which I integrated theories of embodiment, psychotherapy, trauma, addiction and recovery and hold an Advanced Certificate in Couple and Family Therapy Studies with distinction from the University of Guelph. I am an Associate member of the Canadian Association for Couples and Family Therapy.  My background as a birth doula and a nurse has built in me a deep appreciation for how hard it is to be alive and the support required to get through challenging and transitional times. I am an avid lover of music, art and dance, believing that creativity is a part of being alive. I work to integrate this into my practice, along with a spiritual and intuitive sense.
