Hello! My name is Carol Caskey.  I want to tell you a little about myself, because you may find it is easier to talk to me if you know me a bit.

I have been working at Ames Counseling Center (formerly known as Heart to Heart Communication) for over 18 years, helping people to improve their relationships.  Although I have worked at several other places previously, this is by far the warm-and-friendliest place I have worked. I have a degree from the University of Iowa, and another from Kansas University, and am licensed in the state of Iowa.

At Ames Counseling Center, we understand that relationships are challenging.  People have a need to be in relationships with others, so it is important that these relationships be as healthy as possible.  Together, the therapists at Ames Counseling Center have decades of experience in working with people to improve their relationships, including all the things that interfere with relationships, such as alcohol or other drugs, affairs and pornography, depression and anger, poor communication, anxiety and stress, grief and loss.  One of the strengths of the Counseling Center is that the therapists train and support each other, so the client gets the benefit of many therapists, even though you only meet with one.

I can help you assess your relationship to give you the ability to strengthen your connections, improve your communication, and have more fulfillment.  I also help people with dealing with anxiety and depression issues, which affect many people and relationships. If you are willing to learn and to try new things, we can be a great team!

Other than working with people on their relationships, I take annual trips to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, and to Tanzania in east Africa to work with the peoples of those regions.  I find this work helps me to have a global perspective, to be able to connect with others who are quite different from me, and to help find ways to overcome incredible challenges.  These trips also help me to challenge and grow in my faith in God.

I am happily married and have 3 delightful and unique daughters.  I also enjoy singing, gardening, walking in the rain and splashing in puddles, playing with my dog Samantha, making soup, and photographing nature.

I would love to meet with you and help you to grow into your potential!
