Welcome to my Theravive Page!

Are you stressed, exhausted, or just going through the motions of your life? Did the pandemic play a role in driving you to re-evaluate your priorities? Anxiety, depression, Anger, Substance Use, or feelings of overwhelm may be at play, and you may feel like you want a safe space to assess how you got to where you are today. I specialize in working with professionals, therapists, executives, caregivers, and front-line workers who have successful careers on paper but still feel unfulfilled in their personal and professional lives and relationships. I can create a safe space to explore your emotions and lived experiences.

Who am I?
I am a registered psychotherapist (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) and hold a PhD in psychology. I have almost 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. My focus is on client-centered care and working with you where you are to explore your feelings and experiences. My goal is to help you have a more fulfilling life and more meaningful relationships.

What can I help with?

I will work with individuals to explore current relationships, family-of-origin issues, and support you in working through any of the following issues:
    • Depression
    • Substance use, behavioural addiction
    • Anxiety
    • Trauma (including childhood, moral injury, or vicarious trauma)
    • Relationships
    • Grief/Loss
    • Post-pandemic life transitions
    • I also work with couples to provide relationship support
      • Pre-marital Counselling
      • Communication difficulties
      • Infidelity and loss of trust
      • Family challenges: children and extended family
      • Difficulty maintaining intimacy and closeness through life challenges
      • Feeling alone in your relationship and/or withdrawing from your relationship
      • Family of origin issues and/or trauma
      • Emotional Issues, such as grief, loss, and bereavement

How do I help?

I encourage introspection, self-reflection, and the exploration of life-long and new patterns to make the present and the future more healthy, meaningful, and positive.

I utilize the following modalities:
  • Emotionally focused therapy
  • Relational therapy
  • Insight-oriented therapies (psychodynamic and humanistic)
  • CBT/DBT, solution-focused, narrative, humanistic, and mindfulness-based practices.
  • I also specialize in Brain-based therapies such as:
    • Neuropsychotherapy - a talk-based form of therapy based on the assumption that our brains and neural connections are plastic and, thus, can change during the psychotherapeutic process.
    • Past losses, wounds, and traumas are stored in our bodies and brains, leading us to maintain difficult patterns of behaviour, thoughts and feelings that keep us stuck, leading to depression, anxiety, and other forms of emotional suffering.
In our work together, we can explore the roots of your stress, burnout, interpersonal struggles, anxiety, or feelings of inadequacy. You can discuss your fears, stressors, and hopes from the comfort of your home as I holistically guide you toward more psychological balance and well-being. You can live a more authentic, meaningful, and peaceful inner life.
