Dr. Jeanine Copperstone has served in the mental health field for over 20 years. In that capacity, she has provided psychological and substance abuse assessment, treatment planning, and general psychotherapy. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology from Portland State University, her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from New Mexico State University, her Doctorate in Psychology from Arizona State University and her Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark College.
She served as Clinical Director and Program Consultant at the Sundance Healing Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. In this capacity, she supervised counselors and behavioral technicians seeking licensure and certification. She was a peer counselor for the New Mexico State Bar Peer Counseling Program. She provided consultation as Director of Student Training at the Salvation Army in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed her post-doctoral residency at Northern Arizona University Student Counseling Center.
She was a co-instructor in the Counseling Pre-practicum program at Arizona State University. She provided instruction in clinical methods to master’s level pre-practicum students. Her presentations included “Screening and Referral of Potentially Harmful Clients,” “Ethical Dilemmas and Challenges Within the Inpatient Residential Treatment Setting,” and “Referral and Utilization of Twelve-Step Self-Help Programs by Mental Health Practitioners.”
Dr. Copperstone specializes in the treatment of women in recovery, women experiencing transition in their lives, and women who are interested in changing unhealthy patterns of interacting with others. She utilizes a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. Issues she treats include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and stress management.
Dr. Copperstone is particularly adept at discovering unhelpful patterns and thoughts which interfere with the ability to function at a satisfying level in life. She will guide you in developing tools to change these patterns in order to move in a positive direction. She provides a safe and supportive environment for the therapeutic experience.
Dr. Copperstone provides a Group entitled Boundaries for Women. In this group, women learn to set appropriate boundaries while staying true to their values.
Therapy with Dr. Copperstone provides many benefits, which include: improved self-confidence, healthy patterns in relating to others, and increased happiness and contentment in your life.
Dr. Copperstone charges a fee of $85.00 per 50-minute individual session. The fee for group therapy is $40.00 per 90-minute session. She accepts Regence Blue/Cross and Cigna Health Insurance.
