I’m passionate about helping people navigate their problems and achieve their full potential, be it within their own personal goals through individual therapy, or the goals of the relationship through couples counseling. I believe therapy is a collaboration and I am committed to helping people become equipped with the skills they need to face the challenges they find themselves in.

I received a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from SMU, where I studied the following courses: Lifestyle and Career Development, Individual Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Sex Therapy, Psychology of Addiction, Family Violence, Family of Origin, Treatment Management, Lifespan Development, Psychopathology, Research Design &
Statistics, Assessment, Diverse Communities, Ethics, Counseling Theories, and
Group Counseling.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor. I have experience working with teenagers, as well as young through older adults, and have worked in private practice, and outpatient and inpatient treatment settings. I have also worked with a variety of issues, such as couples counseling, marital and premarital counseling, depression and mood disorders, anxiety, addiction, infidelity, guilt and shame, adjustment to life transitions, vocational counseling, and many others.
The clinical approaches I use are eclectic and vary depending on the person and the issue, but some of the modalities that I find generally helpful are CBT, solution-focused therapy, gestalt therapy, Gottman marital therapy, love languages, trauma-informed therapy, positive psychology, among others. My priority will be to use what works best for the client as no approach works the same for every single person.

More often than not, the first step is usually the most difficult in starting any project or habit, as well as starting counseling. If you are hesitating to begin, that is actual very normal and a natural part of the process, but do not let the anxiety or hesitation be an obstacle in reaching the goals you want to reach. I would be more than happy to have a conversation over the phone to answer any questions regarding any potential concerns for counseling. I also understand that not every counselor works for every person, and am open to an ongoing conversation about this, should you decide that I am not the right fit for you. I will be happy to provide a referral and will have no hard feelings whatsoever. The most important thing is that you are seeking help for yourself and taking steps to improve your mental wellbeing, which will improve every other facet of your life.
