Kent Comprehensive Treatment Center View Specialties

Kent Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides opioid addiction treatment services for residents of Kent, Washington. We offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines the use of prescription medications with individual and group therapies, for adults age 18 and older.

At Kent CTC, we believe that it’s possible for every individual to achieve freedom from opioid addiction when they’re given the right tools and support. MAT medications available at our outpatient addiction treatment center include Suboxone, buprenorphine, and methadone. Individuals who wish to stop opioid use face unique challenges. Opioids like heroin, fentanyl, and prescription pain medications can quickly lead to severe physical dependence. Attempts at detox usually result in overwhelming withdrawal symptoms. These can include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and pain. Opioid detox can even result in death when attempted without medical oversight. Once detox is complete, individuals may struggle with severe cravings that often lead to relapse.

The many physical, mental, emotional, and lifestyle changes that occur in early recovery can leave a person struggling to maintain a sense of well-being. Even the strongest desire to stop using opioids can be undercut by the power these drugs have on the body and mind. The medications used in MAT are unique because they address all these challenges simultaneously. Kent CTC relies on MAT medications to support clients who are suffering from withdrawal symptoms and cravings and help stabilize brain chemistry during the period of early recovery. MAT medications are FDA-approved and safe for short- or long-term use.

Treatment plans at Kent CTC are individualized to best serve a client’s unique recovery goals and medical needs. Our goal is to make treating opioid addiction as simple as possible for our clients. Treatment begins with a detailed assessment. Our treatment team considers medical history, mental health history, and substance use history. Our physicians can adjust medications as needed, and our counselors are available to provide emotional and behavioral support. Individuals who are seeking to overcome opioid addiction are usually aware of the many ways in which addiction has impacted their health and quality of life.

Our individual and group counseling sessions encourage clients to examine the effects of addiction in a supportive environment and make changes that can best support long-term recovery. At Kent CTC, we strive to empower clients with the education and skills that can allow them to successfully stop opioid use. We provide support and understanding while encouraging each client to take ownership of their recovery journey.
