Therapy Modalities Used by Kimberly:
-Biblical Counseling: Counseling by ministering Scripture to those who face struggles in life or who desire wisdom or God’s direction. Biblical Counseling focuses on ministering Scripture by speaking the truth in love to those in need of counsel.
-Narrative Therapy: Narrative therapy is a collaborative and non-pathologizing approach to counselling and community work. A narrative approach views problems as separate from people and assumes people as having many skills, abilities, values, commitments, beliefs and competencies that will assist them to change their relationship with the problems influencing their lives. It is a way of working that considers the broader context of people's lives particularly in the various dimensions of diversity including class, race, gender, sexual orientation and ability.
-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Cognitive-behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that is the most widely used evidence-based practice for improving mental health. Guided by empirical research, CBT focuses on the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems and changing unhelpful patterns in cognitions, behaviors, and emotional regulation. It was originally designed to treat depression, and is now used for a number of mental health conditions.
