Life’s challenges can leave a lasting impact not only on our thoughts and emotions, but also on our bodies.  Lisa Taylor believes in supporting the whole person – mind and body – by helping clients build awareness, develop coping tools, and reconnect with their own strengths.  She incorporates somatic practices and mindfulness to help clients feel more grounded, present, and resilient.  Lisa creates a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can take place, using a trauma-informed and body-centered approach to support lasting change.

Lisa Taylor is a Licensed Social Worker with a Master of Social Work Degree from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Fort Lewis College.  She draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Somatic Therapy to support her clients, and is trained in working with complex trauma.

Lisa has spent the past two years working with children and adolescents in school settings, helping students navigate challenges such as anxiety, suicidal ideation, peer conflict, and family dynamics.  She also collaborates closely with families to ensure the best outcomes.  In addition, Lisa has experience supporting individuals dealing with anger and substance use, always striving to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for growth and healing.

Outside of Foundations Counseling, Lisa enjoys spending time in nature through hiking and camping, often accompanied by her dog, Jerry.  She also has a passion for baking and is a life-long rock collector.  During the winter months, she enjoys skiing and reading – particularly psychological thrillers and self-help books, recommendations are well encouraged!
