Hi, I’m Mary Mikhail, a Registered Social Worker offering virtual psychotherapy across Ontario.

If you’ve found yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in old patterns, or just tired of carrying the emotional weight of life on your own—you’re not alone. Therapy can be a place to finally catch your breath. Whether you’re navigating stress from school or work, experiencing relationship challenges, healing from trauma, or struggling with intense emotions, I’m here to support you with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based care.

I believe therapy should feel like a supportive partnership. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. Together, we’ll create a space where you can feel safe to explore your emotions, untangle what’s holding you back, and start creating meaningful change. My goal is not to “fix” you—but to help you reconnect with your own resilience, wisdom, and strength.

I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, emotional dysregulation, burnout, trauma, low self-worth, and relational stress. I support adults and young adults—including those who are high achievers, caregivers, students, or professionals—who may look like they have it all together but are quietly struggling beneath the surface.

I use an integrative and trauma-informed approach that draws from several evidence-based therapies to meet your unique needs:

- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness and building healthier interpersonal skills

- Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore and heal inner parts of yourself with compassion and curiosity

- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you move toward what really matters to you, even when life feels uncertain

- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors

- Mindfulness strategies to ground and calm the nervous system in the face of stress and overwhelm

For trauma, I offer focused support using:

- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to process painful memories and shift trauma-related beliefs

- DBT-PTSD, which combines DBT skills with trauma processing for those living with complex trauma or PTSD

- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for trauma, to support deeper emotional healing, connection, and nervous system regulation

I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for healing. I bring empathy, attunement, and authenticity to each session, creating a space where your voice matters and your story is honored. This isn’t about one-size-fits-all advice—it’s about helping you feel more whole, more empowered, and more connected to yourself and the life you want to live.

Clients often tell me they feel genuinely seen and understood for the first time in therapy. I take that trust seriously. My approach is paced gently, tailored to your goals, and grounded in deep respect for your lived experience.
I also understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating or uncertain. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a sense of what working together might feel like—no pressure, just a conversation.

If you’re looking for a therapist who combines clinical skill with deep compassion, and who will meet you exactly where you are, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey.

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting your past—it means learning how to live fully in the present. Let’s take that first step, together.
