I can help.  As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I am registered and certified with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.  I have extensive experience helping people with their challenges, using evidence-based approaches to support change. I believe everyone has the capacity to recover from difficult life experiences and to thrive, to find balance, to find ways to live with more satisfaction. In counselling I provide you with the consideration, encouragement, and insight that you need to help you uncover solutions for living better. I believe people get overwhelmed, and need support connecting with old strengths and developing new strengths.  I love seeing people discover or rediscover their confidence in themselves. My clients have told me that I am warm, funny, thoughtful, resourceful, and effective.   I see adult individuals and couples who are struggling with:   ·depression and anxiety
  ·relationship dynamics
  ·shame and self esteem
  ·grief and loss
  ·making big decisions
  ·life transitions
  ·separation and divorce
·sexual health concerns (pregnancy, abortion, infertility concerns)
  ·porn use
  ·creativity & life satisfaction
I offer a free half-hour initial consultation so you can see if I am the right counsellor for you.  Whatever is going on, I am trained to pick out the patterns in your behaviour, which provide clues to helping you feel better. It can be hard to see these patterns on your own. I have treated people who are struggling with bad feelings due to a divorce, others who are trying to change an addictive behaviour, and others who are trying to figure out a big decision. Many people want to set boundaries in their relationships. Sometimes after a death in the family there is family turmoil or intense grief – I help people through their grieving and some of the life choices they may need to make. I also see people about their sexual health – processing abortion grief, or finding a way through porn addiction, for example.  Sometimes we just feel stuck, or unable to move forward due to grief or some other experience-- or we don't even know why. I am also interested in how people recover from shaming experiences.  Shame is a universal human feeling, and when it comes it tends to feel very mysterious to us.  Shame is a universal human feeling, and everyday shame tends to be uncomfortable but manageable – it passes as we grow from our experience.  Sometimes, though, shame creeps up on us – perhaps we were victimized, or we acted in a way that we deeply regret.  Perhaps no one stood up for us.  Troubling shame tends to stick around, and plays a part in keeping people stuck. It doesn't have to stay that way -- I can help you with this.
