My passion as a Licensed Counselor is to help others work through their pain, hardships and relationships. God created us to be in relationships and it’s my passion to help people navigate through life’s difficulties especially those that affect our relationships. As part of Diakonos we provide a collaborative way for us to work together while respecting your beliefs and values. I work with a balanced approach that includes multiple disciplines to ensure that I am providing the best care for my clients. One common approach I use is Cognitive Behavior Therapy which examines how our thoughts and behavior influence how we feel. Our perceptions of events and others has a strong connection with our emotions.
During sessions you will discover that:
I am dedicated to creating a trusting relationship and providing affordable counseling to those who need help. Your own thoughts, beliefs, and values are important to me as well as your active involvement in the counseling process. I believe that God values marriages and family.
My passions include helping those with broken marriages achieve healing and intimacy. I have a heart to help those with internet pornography addiction, abuse/trauma history, and family conflict. I also have experience working with families helping children and adolescents achieve healing for anger, behavior management, self harm, and parenting issues.
My passion also includes working with adults and children who have been victims to trauma and/or abuse (both sexual and physical.) I also help people who have depression, anxiety, anger management issues, stress, parenting issues, and divorce.
The experiences I have working in outpatient, in-home, and residential settings for counseling, have allowed me to see clients who represent different levels of care, and a variety of stressors that contribute to their struggles.
My education includes two Bachelor’s degrees, one in psychology and the other in communication studies. My Education includes a docorate in counselings from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have a Master’s degree in counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary which prepared me for practicing Christian Counseling as well as modern counseling. Currently I am in the Doctorate of Counseling Program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am also an adjunct instructor for Abnormal Psychology and Marriage and Family Counseling at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
My professional credentials include being a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri and a national certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor. I am a member of the Association of Christian Counselors and the Association of Play Therapy.
