As a registered counselling psychologist with over 15 years of counselling experience, I provide services to individuals and couples (18 years of age and older). I value working in a collaborative and respectful therapeutic relationship and deeply understand the importance of establishing a good rapport or "the right fit" between client and counsellor. I believe that each person and couple is unique, and based on the presenting issue(s) I draw on a variety of counselling modalities to help clients move toward their therapeutic goals. Working from a gentle, holistic perspective, inner strengths are explored to assist clients in healing, growth, and change. In my counselling practice I offer safe, supportive, and confidential services that integrate current research, knowledge, and a high level of quality training to best serve clients’ therapeutic needs and goals.
I hold a Masters and Doctoral degree specializing in counselling psychology, both awarded by the University of Alberta - it is only one of four such programs in Canada that is accredited with the Canadian Psychological Association and has the highest standard of training in counselling. In addition, I have completed Level Three training in Gottman Method couples therapy, a world-renowned and extensively researched approach to helping couples through significant challenges and to strengthen relationships. My training has also included, advanced certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy to address issues such as: better quality sleep, anxiety and stress management, pain, enhancing sports and athletic performance, improving study skills, and modification of unwanted habits.
Professional Memberships and Affiliations include: College of Alberta Psychologists, Psychologists’ Association of Alberta and the Canadian Federation of Clinical Hypnosis – Alberta.
