Welcome!
I’m Nicole, a professionally trained counsellor who specializes in trauma-informed, attachment-oriented care for children, teens, adults, and families. If you’re navigating big feelings, complex histories, or a sense of being “stuck,” I offer a steady, compassionate space to help you understand what’s happening, shift patterns that no longer serve you, and build a life that feels more connected, confident, and aligned with your values.

Areas of Focus
  • Complex and developmental trauma
  • Anxiety, stress, and burnout
  • Identity, self-esteem, and life transitions
  • Neurodivergence-affirming support (for clients and families)
  • Grief and loss
  • Parenting and family dynamics
  • School-based challenges and advocacy

Clients often tell me they feel “met where they are” in our work. I bring warmth, steadiness, and a down-to-earth style that invites honesty without judgment. We will celebrate wins, practice new skills, and make space for the hard stuff with equal care. Whether you prefer a structured plan or a gentler, emergent process, we will design therapy around what helps you feel safe and engaged.
 The Story We’ll Write Together

Many people arrive feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure where to start. Over time, they leave sessions with language for their experiences, practical tools that actually help, and renewed confidence in their ability to navigate life.
The arc of our work is simple but powerful: safety → skills → healing → growth.
You do not have to do this alone.

Qualifications & Professional Background
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor and a Registered Counselling Therapist with specialized training in
  • EMDR
  • Sandplay and Play Therapy
  • Somatic and Attachment-based approaches
  • Ego-States/parts work
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Solution-focused techniques.

I’ve supported clients across school settings, community agencies, and private practice—particularly those managing complex trauma, neurodivergence, grief and loss, identity exploration, anxiety, and relational stress. My work is culturally curious, neuro-affirming, and 2SLGBTQIA+-affirming, grounded in current research and best practices in mental health and psychology.

How I Work (What You Can Expect)Therapy with me is collaborative and paced with care. In our first sessions, we map your goals and strengths, clarify what safety looks like for you, and agree on a plan that feels doable. I integrate body-based strategies to help you regulate your nervous system, practical tools for day-to-day coping, and deeper trauma processing when you’re ready. With children and teens, I use play-based and creative methods to translate big feelings into safe, understandable language. With adults, we blend insight, somatic awareness, and skills that support real-world change. I also offer nature-based/walk-and-talk sessions when appropriate, inviting the grounding benefits of movement and the outdoors.

Benefits of Therapy With Me
Relief and Regulation: Learn evidence-based strategies to calm your body, reduce anxiety, and manage overwhelm.

Clarity and Confidence: Understand your patterns, strengthen self-trust, and make decisions that reflect who you are—not just what you’ve been through.

Healthier Relationships: Build boundaries, improve communication, and experience more secure connection with yourself and others.

Trauma Healing: Safely process difficult memories and experiences so they have less power over your present.

Support for Families: For caregivers, I offer guidance that turns insight into practical routines, co-regulation strategies, and consistent support at home and school.

My PhilosophyPeople are not problems to be fixed; they are stories to be heard and honoured. Symptoms often make sense in the context of what you’ve survived. When we approach those symptoms with curiosity, compassion, and the right tools, change becomes possible. I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and empowering, with full respect for your pace, your culture, your identities, and your lived wisdom.

Next StepIf this resonates, I’d be honoured to connect. I offer in-person and secure online sessions for clients across St. Albert and Edmonton. Reach out to ask questions or book a consultation—we’ll explore your goals, answer your “what ifs,” and decide together on a path that fits. Your story matters. Let’s help it move toward the future you want.
